Investing in technology is an ongoing concern and therefore requires an understanding and acceptance of the investment required in training for all staff.  Failure to appreciate this requirement will result in increased stress levels and therefore inefficiency during the initial implementation and immediately following.  Any software company will tell you that their software is easy to use, however ease of use is for the most part a function of time spent using the software.  Most software systems become easier to use following extended exposure and use of the system.

This is the basis of all software sales, however in times of rapid technology advances, as is occurring currently and particularly in the medical industry with the various e-health initiatives underway, most practice management systems are increasing in functionality, which therefore requires the practic staff to learn more, which therefore requires more time to be set aside for training.  Ongoing training is therefore your commitment to technology implementation.

Houston Medical provides a comprehensive installation and training programme designed to introduce your staff to the advanced functionality provided by the VIP software .  Following our analysis of your practice needs, subsequent proposal, and your acceptance of the proposal, our trainers will embarke on a process of configuring VIP to suite your requirements, then pre-training (via the Internet, where available) and training during the go-live process.  Pre-training and system configuration is available onsite or remotely via the Internet.

The main aim of the onsite installation and training programme is to introduce you and your staff to the basics of the VIP software, including creating appointments, billing patients and running financial reports.  Depending on the version of VIP that you purchase, the initial installation may also introduce you to the Medical Desktop and processes such as prescribing and the use of the Investigations Intray for pathology and radiology results analysis.

Please note that advanced concepts, such as the creation of user defined forms and use of the Report Writer, are not covered during the initial installation and training, however we are able to configure these for you during the pre-installation and configuration process.  VIP is a highly-configurable application and your proposal will include specific information on the amount of time required for your installation based on the version purchased and the number of staff, and will include pricing on additionl services such as the amount of time that you would like us to devote to user defined forms and reports specific to your practice.
